Luceplan
In 1978, Riccardo Sarfatti, Sandra Severi and Paolo Rizzatto founded Luceplan with the vision of using light to enhance the quality of our habitat. The three founders of Luceplan possessed passion, competence and an extraordinary know-how they had acquired under their mentor Gino Sarfatti, the founder of Arteluce and a pioneer in the field of modern lighting in Italy. As an entrepreneur and designer - but, above all, as an audacious experimenter - Gino Sarfatti revolutionized lighting design and in this he was peerless.
Inaugurated in 1991 the Luceplan headquarters in via E. T. Moneta, Milan Italy, had an initial surface area of 13,500 sq. m which soon grew to 40,000 sq.m.
Luceplan is known for their unique qualities to seamlessly bring together day-to-day life environments with technology, to provide technical office lighting systems with the refinements otherwise found only in home contexts, to develop modular systems which nevertheless reflect the kind of inventiveness one generally finds in on-off products, to harmonize color use, lighting performance and requirements, and to successfully merge technique and elegance.
